The National Service Authority (NSA) has emphasized its commitment to the prompt payment of allowances to National Service Personnel (NSP), assuring stakeholders that steps are being taken to clear outstanding arrears.
In a press release dated February 17, 2026, and signed by the Director-General, Ruth Dela Seddoh, the Authority acknowledged concerns over delayed payments and emphasized that allowances are fundamental to supporting personnel throughout their mandatory service year.
Management disclosed that the Controller and Accountant-General’s Department (CAGD) advanced funds last week to cover two months of allowances.
However, it explained that the delay in disbursement is due to an ongoing verification process being conducted by the Ghana Interbank Payment and Settlement Systems Limited (GhIPSS).
According to the NSA, the verification exercise is necessary to ensure accuracy and uphold financial integrity before payments are finalized.
The Authority commended service personnel for their patience and resilience during the period of delay, noting that their contributions to national development remain deeply valued and appreciated.
Management further assured that all verified and legitimate arrears are expected to be cleared by the close of this week.
It added that updates will continue to be shared through official communication channels to keep personnel fully informed.
