One person has been confirmed dead following an accident involving National Democratic Congress (NDC) supporters in the Assin North Constituency in the Central Region.
The supporters had joined the party and its 2024 Presidential Candidate, John Dramani Mahama, for campaign at Dansame in the Constituency on Saturday, June 17.
Unfortunately, they were involved in an accident while returning from the programme.
Several of them have sustained various degrees of injury.
Former President Mahama had to suspend his campaign to visit the injured.
“Unfortunately, we lost one of our comrades who enthusiastically joined others to the programme,” he wrote on his official Facebook page.
“Our condolences to her family.
“I will be leading the party to visit the family of the deceased to commiserate with them.”
