Attorney General Dr. Dominic Ayine has assured that recoveries from Operation Recover All Loot (ORAL) will start flowing into government coffers this year.
He estimates that Ghana could retrieve up to $20.49 billion if all stolen assets are successfully recovered.
Dr. Ayine explained that extensive work is underway, both locally and internationally, to track and recover misappropriated state funds.
A special clandestine investigations team reports directly to him, and collaborations with local agencies like EOCO and NIB, as well as foreign partners, are yielding results.
Some notable cases under investigation include the National Cathedral project, Power Distribution Services (PDS), and the Strategic Mobilization Limited (SML) scandal.
Dr. Ayine emphasized that his office is focused on building solid cases that can withstand legal scrutiny, rather than rushing to court.
“We are working tirelessly to ensure that stolen assets are recovered and returned to the state,” Dr. Ayine said. “Ghanaians can expect to see results this year.”
