Black Stars head coach Otto Addo has announced a 27-man squad for Ghana’s September 2025 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Chad and Mali, with key returns and a debut call-up.
Forward Joseph Paintsil returns to the national team, while Derrick Kohn of Union Berlin has earned his first call-up. The squad combines experience with youth, featuring senior players Thomas Partey, Mohammed Kudus, Jordan Ayew, and Iñaki Williams, alongside emerging talents Ibrahim Osman, Ibrahim Sulemana, and Christopher Bonsu Baah.
In goal, Lawrence Ati-Zigi is joined by Joseph Anang and Hearts of Oak’s Benjamin Asare. The defense line includes Mohammed Salisu, Alexander Djiku, Tariq Lamptey, and Caleb Yirenkyi, while midfield reinforcements feature Elisha Owusu, Abdul Salis Samed, and Partey.
Ghana will open their qualifying campaign against Chad on Thursday, September 4, at the Stade Omnisport Idriss Mahamat Ouya in N’Djamena, before hosting Mali on Monday, September 8, at the Accra Sports Stadium.
