The Minister for Energy, John Abu Jinapor, has revealed alarming findings from a committee’s investigation into procurement irregularities and missing Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) containers at the Tema Port.

In a Facebook post on Tuesday, March 25, the Minister disclosed that the report, spanning 103 pages, highlighted serious procurement breaches and the disappearance of over 1,350 out of approximately 2,500 ECG containers that were stuck at the port.

Mr. Jinapor assured that law enforcement agencies would be tasked with ensuring that those responsible are held accountable.

The Minister’s revelation comes at a time when the ECG has been facing challenges with power supply and financial constraints, making the issue of missing equipment and procurement breaches even more critical.
