Benjamin Azamati was born on January 14, 1998, in Akim Oda, Ghana. The son of John and Faustina Azamati, Benjamin’s early sporting interests lay in football. However, during his time at Presbyterian Boys Senior High School (SHS) in Accra, he transitioned to athletics, a move that would set the stage for a remarkable sprinting career.

Academic and Athletic Excellence
After his successful high school stint, Azamati’s exceptional performance on the track earned him a spot at West Texas A&M University. Here, he balanced his academic pursuits with intensive training, honing his skills and pushing his limits in sprinting.

Breaking Records and Setting Personal Bests
Benjamin Azamati’s dedication and hard work have resulted in impressive personal bests. In outdoor events, he has clocked 9.90 seconds in the 100 metres (+2.0 m/s, Texas 2022) and 20.13 seconds in the 200 metres (+1.1 m/s, Texas 2021). His indoor achievements include a 60-metre dash in 6.54 seconds (Albuquerque 2022) and a 200-metre sprint in 20.57 seconds (Texas 2022).

Olympic Dreams Realized
Azamati’s stellar performances have secured him spots in two Olympic Games. He qualified for the Tokyo 2021 Olympics and is set to compete in Paris 2024, representing Ghana on the world stage.He will compete in the men’s 100m and 4X100m relay.

A Bright Future Ahead
With a blend of natural talent, rigorous training, and a supportive background, Benjamin Azamati is poised to leave an indelible mark in the world of athletics. As he continues to chase new records and represent his country.
