Thomas Partey and Emmanuel Boateng were on target as Ghana cruised to a 2-0 win in the 2018 World Cup warm-up against Japan on Wednesday.
Partey, who was given the chance to captain the side in the absence of several top players put the Black Stars ahead at the Nissan Stadium as early as the 8th minute with a beautiful struck free kick on the edge of the box.
Japan however regained their composure and began to create some problems for the Ghanaians.
Goalkeeper Richard Ofori was called into action a couple of times, particularly on the 35th minute when he pulled off a stunning save to deny Keisuke Honda the equalizer.
The four-time African Champions were awarded a penalty in the 51st minute for a foul on new-boy Emmanuel Boateng.
The Levante ace picked himself up and converted from the spot to register his first international goal on his debut appearances
In-form Richard Ofori made a few more good stops in the second half to ensure he kept a well deserved clean sheet.
Bayern Munich youngster Akwasi Okyere made his international bow for Ghana in the 82nd to after coming on replace Boateng.
The Black Stars will next face Iceland in another friendly on June 7.
