The event brought together deaf students from various schools across the country, along with their coaches, sports masters, school heads, and other key stakeholders. It was a vibrant display of talent, joy, and unity—all made possible through the game of tennis.

Highlighting the significance of the occasion, the President of the Ghana Tennis Federation, Mr. Isaac Duah, was in attendance to show his support for the initiative. His presence reaffirmed the importance of inclusive sports and the Federation’s commitment to supporting talents from all backgrounds and abilities.

The festival featured skill-building sessions, friendly matches, and interactive drills, giving the children—many of whom were holding a racket for the first time—a thrilling introduction to the sport. The excitement on their faces was unmistakable as they fully embraced the moment, cheered on by coaches, teachers, and guests.

In a message of appreciation, the GDSF Management Committee extended heartfelt thanks to all who contributed to the success of the event. Special recognition was given to the coaches from PM Sports Foundation, cooperative school sports staff, and the enthusiastic students whose participation made the event a resounding success.

The Federation also paid special tribute to Hon. Peter Mensah, CEO of PM Sports Foundation, for his relentless commitment to creating inclusive sporting opportunities for children with disabilities.

Looking ahead, GDSF announced plans to deepen collaboration with PM Sports Foundation by launching a national tennis competition tailored for the deaf community. The goal is to identify and nurture young talents for national and international events, including the Deaflympics.

Friday’s festival was more than just a sporting event—it was a celebration of inclusion, potential, and the unifying power of sport. With continued efforts and support, the dream of building a more inclusive sports landscape in Ghana is well within reach.
