The Eastern Regional Police Command has intercepted two tipper trucks transporting 150 sacks of dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp.
The trucks, with registration numbers GN 993-14 and GG 3674-20, were stopped at Apesua, near Nkurakan, where officers discovered the substances concealed beneath heaps of sand.
A statement issued by the Superintendent of Police Ebenezer Tetteh indicated that two drivers have been arrested and are assisting with investigations. Their names remain undisclosed as inquiries continue.
Authorities have assured the public that further updates will be provided as the investigation unfolds.
