The Ghana Police Service will on Tuesday, August 19, hold a meeting with political parties to outline security measures and preparations for the upcoming Akwatia parliamentary by-election.
The meeting, slated for 10:00 a.m. at the Police Headquarters in Accra, will also involve the Electoral Commission (EC). According to a letter signed by COP Dr. David Agyemang Adjem, Director-General of Administration, the engagement is aimed at ensuring a peaceful, transparent, and well-coordinated electoral process.
“The meeting will discuss the modalities for the by-election as well as the Electoral Commission’s preparedness and roadmap,” the letter noted.
The Akwatia by-election, scheduled for September 2, 2025, follows the death of Member of Parliament Ernest Kumi.
