The Board Chairman of the Ghana Revenue Authority, Professor Stephen Adei has stated that, he will not allow his political affiliations influence his work in any way.

Speaking in an interview on Happy FM’s ‘Epa Hoa Daben’ he stated that,
“Though I was appointed by the President, this will in no way affect me in the execution of my duties.”

On his authority, the government can fire any appointee for not performing and non compliance but he will not let that force him  into committing any unlawful acts.

As a staunch christian, he [Prof. Adei] is ready to stand against the government should he ever be asked to do anything unlawful.

He however believes that, the government will never ask him to engage in any illegal practices. But rather expects him to be upright and effective.

Professor Emeritus Stephen Adei was appointed Board Chairman of the GRA two weeks ago and has since then assumed his duties fully.
