Political analyst has lauded the just-ended New Patriotic Party (NPP) Delegates Conference, describing it as a crucial turning point in the party’s efforts to rebuild and foster internal cohesion.
In an interview with Bismark Brown on Happy 98.9 FM’s Epa Hoa Daben political talk show, Dr. Atta said the event signaled a positive shift for the party as it prepares for the 2028 general elections.
“The conference presents a real opportunity for healing and unity after a difficult electoral season. It’s a strategic move that could strengthen the party from within,” he remarked.
Held on July 19, 2025, at the University of Ghana Stadium, the conference brought together over 6000 delegates nationwide. Attendees deliberated on 56 proposed amendments to the party’s constitution, including reforms to the Electoral College system and proposals aimed at deepening grassroots involvement.
The event was themed “Rebuilding Together with Our Values”, a message Dr. Atta described as both timely and reflective of the party’s need for introspection and renewal following its 2024 electoral loss.
He indicated that if the NPP remains committed to these reforms and the spirit of unity expressed during the conference, it could position itself more competitively for the years ahead.
