A fresh tracking poll by Global InfoAnalytics suggests that National Democratic Congress (NDC) Chairman, Johnson Asiedu Nketia, holds a narrow lead over former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia in a potential 2028 presidential race.
The survey shows Asiedu Nketia with 50% support compared to Dr. Bawumia’s 45%, while 5% of respondents said they would opt for another candidate.
The findings point to a tightly contested race, giving the NDC leader a slim five-point edge over the New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer for the 2024 elections.
Political analysts say the poll reflects Ghana’s shifting political dynamics as both the NDC and NPP intensify early groundwork ahead of the 2028 elections.
Global InfoAnalytics noted that the close margin highlights the potential for a fiercely competitive contest if this matchup takes place.
