President John Dramani Mahama marked his first anniversary in office with a non-denominational thanksgiving service at the forecourt of the Jubilee House in Accra.

The event, themed “Resetting. Rebuilding. Renewing.”, brought together religious leaders, government officials, members of the diplomatic corps, and invited guests to reflect on the administration’s first year and pray for unity and progress.

In his address, President Mahama expressed gratitude for the country’s stability over the past year and reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to renewal and inclusive governance.

He called for deeper partnerships between the government and religious institutions in sectors like education, healthcare, and agriculture, emphasizing the church’s role in Ghana’s development.

The President also highlighted pressing national issues, including the stalled Kejetia Market project, which he attributed to the debt exchange program.

He assured attendees that recent negotiations with creditors would pave the way for the resumption of work on the market. President Mahama urged religious leaders to advocate for policies that uplift vulnerable populations and foster a just and prosperous Ghana.
