President John Dramani Mahama has announced that the investigative committee set up to probe the fatal helicopter crash of August 6, 2025, has officially submitted its findings. The tragic incident, which involved government ministers and state officials, claimed the lives of eight individuals.
The committee, chaired by the Acting Minister of Defence and Minister for Finance, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, was established in August under the President’s directive to determine the cause of the crash and recommend preventive measures.
In a post shared across his social media platforms, President Mahama confirmed the receipt of the report and expressed his condolences to the victims’ families.
“The Acting Minister for Defence has presented the findings of the investigative committee on the helicopter crash on August 6. The report, which was presented at a National Security Council meeting, will be made public on Tuesday.”
He added, “May the souls of our eight compatriots continue to rest in peace.”
The release of the report is expected to shed light on the circumstances leading to the tragic accident and provide guidance on strengthening aviation safety for government operations.
