President John Dramani Mahama has called on churches and Christian leaders to focus on expanding their outreach rather than competing among themselves.

Addressing the clergy in Kumasi on Sunday, March 2, he emphasized the need for unity in the Christian faith, stressing that churches are not rivals but co-laborers in the Lord’s vineyard.

Mr. Mahama highlighted the biblical principle that “the harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few,” urging churches to pray for more workers and to plant new congregations in areas with little Christian presence.

He encouraged religious leaders to take an active role in establishing strong moral values, promoting family unity, and fostering responsible citizenship.

He acknowledged concerns about rising immorality and crime despite the high percentage of Ghanaians who identify as Christians.

However, he argued that without the influence of the church, the situation would likely be worse.

Mr. Mahama urged churches to focus on evangelism and community transformation, ensuring that their teachings translate into positive change in society.

He reaffirmed the importance of faith in shaping national values and encouraged the clergy to remain committed to their mission.
