Prof. H. Kwasi Prempeh, Chairman of the Constitutional Review Committee, has reaffirmed his commitment to leading a thorough and transparent review of the 1992 Constitution.

Speaking at the inauguration of the committee he on behalf of all members of the committee expressed gratitude to the president for trusting them enough, individually and collectively to shoulder the responsibility of reviewing and proposing suitable amendments to the 1992 constitution.

He assured the nation that the committee would approach its mandate with sincerity and dedication, ensuring that any proposed amendments reflect the best interests of the country.

“Your naming and inauguration of this committee in the very early weeks of your assumption of office as president, signals to us, the members of this committee, as well as to the nation, the sincerity and seriousness of your commitment to prosecute to the end the constitutional reform agenda as a critical component of your pledge to reset governance in this our Fourth Republic” he said.

He pledged that, they will on their part work hard to retain the trust with equal sincerity and seriousness.

“We’ll pursue our task with the sole aim of bettering the fortunes of our people, setting us on the course of progress and development and helping you, Mr. President, to fulfill the pledge that you have made” he emphasized.

He added that, he and his team will work diligently within the next six months to produce a report that is fitting and suitable for the country.
