Deputy Minister for Works and Housing, Gizella Tetteh, who also serves as the Member of Parliament for Awutu Senya West, has urged university students in her constituency to avoid engaging in substance abuse and instead prioritize their education.
She emphasized that drugs like tramadol and marijuana, often referred to as “red” and “wee,” are detrimental to human health and can derail students’ futures.
Addressing students at an event in Awutu Bereku, where she awarded scholarships to 53 university students from her constituency, Gizella Tetteh highlighted the significance of staying focused on academic goals.
She reminded the students that their primary purpose in school is to learn and achieve success, not to indulge in harmful habits like drug abuse.
The scholarship recipients expressed their gratitude to the Deputy Minister and MP for her generosity and support, which they described as a meaningful gesture to empower and uplift them in their educational journeys.
