Erskine Amo Whyte, known as Rev. Erskine, host of MMRS, has been named the Programmes Manager of the number one urban and youth radio station in Ghana, YFM Accra. He brings over a decade of experience in radio programming and youth engagement to oversee all programming content across YFM Accra’s platforms, including radio broadcasts, online streaming, and digital content. Additionally, he will drive the brands futuristic strategies in ESGs, Research, Commercial Events and YTV in Accra.

“We’re taking YFM Accra from where it is now to greater heights,” said Rev. Erskine. “The new era is now, and I believe that with innovative ideas, creative programming, and the commitment, my team and I can truly empower young people and support Ghana’s music and youth space.”

Director of Broadcasting at Global Media Alliance Group, Dr. Timothy Karikari, said: “Rev. Erskine’s appointment is a natural fit for YFM at this time in our journey. He represents the energy, creativity, and deep connection to Ghanaian youth that defines our brand. His experience both on-air and behind the scenes positions him perfectly to lead our programming into a new era of relevance and innovation. I am confident he will inspire the team and drive impactful content that keeps YFM Accra at the forefront of urban radio in the capital.”

Rev. Erskine brings over a decade of experience in radio programming and youth engagement to the position. He started his journey hosting Y Campus Express (YCE) before moving on to become the beloved host of Myd Morning Radio (MMRS), which he continues to host. Throughout his career, he has worked his way up through the ranks, earning respect as a powerful voice for Ghana’s youth.

Beyond radio, Rev. Erskine has built a strong presence on social media, especially on X (formerly Twitter), where he’s become a dominant voice advocating for young people and youth empowerment. He’s passionate about seeing young people succeed and has consistently supported upcoming artists, using his platform to give them the exposure they need to grow their careers. His influence extends to moderating several high-profile events, where he brings his deep understanding of youth and urban culture.

Rev. Erskine is also an event executive for Ghana Events USA and founder of BeaverPlus Solutions, an events and marketing company, further demonstrating his extensive experience in the entertainment and events industry.

As part of YFM Accra’s strategic vision to give intentional support to music, the station has also appointed DJ Kess, a celebrated Ghanaian female DJ, as Head of Music. Rev. Erskine’s programming will focus on innovative ideas ranging from ESG initiatives to intentional support for Ghana’s music industry and youth development.

During the announcement ceremony held at YFM Accra studios in Legon City Mall, Rev. Erskine called on the entire YFM Accra team to support the growth of the brand they all love. He takes over from Eddy Blay, who served as Programmes Manager for 9 years.

Rev. Erskine’s key responsibilities as Programmes Manager will include developing and implementing programming strategies, managing on-air talent and content creators, overseeing the scheduling of programming content, ensuring the quality and consistency of all programming, and identifying and developing new programming opportunities.
