Romanian giants Football CFR Cluj are reportedly considering a move for former Black Stars midfielder Michael Essien this summer.
The midfield powerhouse is a free agent after his contract was terminated by Indonesian side Persib Bandung.
The former Chelsea star was declared surplus to requirements following the arrival of two foreign players.
However, ‘The Bison’ could yet be handed another life line with the Romanian champions who have confirmed contact with the 35 year old.
The move hangs in the balance for now, because Cluj are skeptical about his age as they generally prefer to sign younger players as a matter of policy.
