The National Youth Organizer of the New Patriotic Party(NPP), Salam Mustapha, has stated that the current government has made considerable progress in job creation and strengthening public sector employment across key areas.

He emphasized that while Ghanaians may desire further improvements, they should also acknowledge the progress the current government has made in creating jobs.

He said since coming into office, the administration has reportedly tripled the police force from around 14,000 officers, meeting the demand for improved security across the country. Immigration services have also seen significant growth, with staffing levels increasing from approximately 4,000 to around 12,000 officers, enhancing the nation’s border security.

In the education sector, he said the government addressed a backlog in hiring by employing 100,000 teachers in a single recruitment drive. This massive intake was aimed at tackling the shortage of educators left unaddressed for several years and reinforcing the quality of education.

He noted that the healthcare sector is also expanding under the ambitious Agenda 111 initiative, which is expected to create an additional 65,000 to 70,000 nurses positions once completed. Notably, he revealed that over 20 hospitals have already been completed outside of the Agenda 111 project, underscoring the administration’s commitment to improving healthcare access nationwide.
