Late on Wednesday, Harris shared her empathy with supporters, acknowledging the disappointment many felt over her loss. “I know people are experiencing a range of emotions right now, but we must accept the results of this election.” Before her speech, Harris mentioned that she had called Trump to congratulate him on his victory, stating, “Earlier today, I spoke with President Trump, congratulated him on his victory, and told him we will help his team with the transition and ensure a peaceful transfer of power.” Former President Joe Biden released a statement praising Harris after her speech: “She will continue the fight with purpose, determination, and joy.
