The Minister for Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations, Samuel Nartey George, has called on Corporate Ghana to partner the Government in developing the country’s digital workforce through the One Million Coders Programme.
Speaking at an event in Accra, the Minister urged technology companies, telecommunications operators, financial institutions and other private sector organisations to support the initiative through internships, mentorship, scholarships, equipment donations and employment opportunities.
According to him, the private sector stands to benefit directly from the digitally skilled workforce being developed under the programme.
Samuel Nartey George said achieving the programme’s goal of training one million Ghanaians would require sustained collaboration among government, academia and industry.
The Minister also acknowledged the contributions of Google, MTN, Telecel, Huawei and other partner agencies towards the successful implementation of the One Million Coders Programme.
