Samadu Sofo proved his class as he won the maiden edition of the Ghana Tennis Federation (GTF) and Tennis Foundation Ghana (TFG) Wheelchair Tennis National Ranking Tour over McLean Dzidzienyo.

This happen over the weekend at the Accra Sports Stadium Tennis Court.
Samadu won 3-6,6-4,6-2 in 2 hours and 40 minutes to take home the National Ranking Tour title.

“To win this final against one of the best wheelchair players in Ghana is something which is really fantastic for me.I think I played a great level. I capitalized on the chances I had on the second and final set. Though McLean responded well, I was more focused and I think I played a great match,” Sofo said.

Samadu started the game poorly with McLean breaking him to go up 2-1. Samadu broke back to level but McLean quickly regained the advantage with another break to move ahead 5-3 then held serve to take the opening set from Samadu to win 6-3. Samadu bounced back in the second set with a break to go up 6-4 and won the set 6-4.

In the final set: Samadu kept up the pressure with a break to open the third game and then again to go up 5-2 to put the title within his grasp.

Also in the Women’s final, Bridget Nartey beat Stacy Konadu 7-5,6-2 to secure her first National Ranking
