The Acting Managing Director of the Precious Minerals Marketing Company (PMMC), Sammy Gyamfi, has strongly denied claims that he has refurbished his office at an alleged cost of GHS173,940.

In a statement posted on his Facebook page on Saturday, February 15, 2025, Mr. Gyamfi described the allegations as totally false and accused elements of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) of spreading misinformation.

“The claim by some hirelings of the New Patriotic Party, who are still nursing their wounds after suffering the most embarrassing electoral defeat in the history of Ghana, that I have changed the chair, desk, fridge, and design of my office at the PMMC at a cost of GHS173,940 is totally false,” he wrote.

He argued that no changes have been made to his office since he assumed his role as Acting Managing Director on January 20, 2024. He insisted that all office items, including furniture and stationery, were inherited from his predecessor.

“All the things in my office, including chair, desk, fridge, etc., were there before I assumed office. Not even the A4 sheets or pens on my office desk have been changed,” he added.

Mr. Gyamfi further urged the general public to be vigilant against what he called “fake news” from the NPP, cautioning Ghanaians to verify claims made by the party’s communicators and social media representatives.
