Ghana's Chieftaincy disputes demand comprehensive security measures - Adib Saani

Security Analyst, Adib Saani has emphasized that the root cause of insecurity situations in Ghana stems from human insecurities.

He explained that many of the issues, such as vigilantism, robberies, terrorism, and the over 350 land disputes scattered across the country, are largely due to people lacking access to basic necessities. He said young people, in particular, are jobless, frustrated, disillusioned, angry, and hopeless.

In an exclusive interview with Happy Kasiebo during the press launch of the Ghana Report Jobs and Entrepreneurship Fair in Accra on Friday, September 6, 2024, Mr. Saani underscored that a militarized approach to addressing these issues will not be sustainable if the underlying problems are not tackled.

He stressed that addressing youth unemployment is critical to ensuring a just and peaceful society, especially with the upcoming elections.

He further noted that thousands of real jobs will be created, not just temporary ones that last three months. The fair will also include a rapid skill acquisition program where participants will be trained in STEM fields, helping them become gainfully employed.

He stressed that providing jobs for idle individuals is essential, as idle hands pose a threat to the state’s security.
