Black Stars coach, James Kwesi Appiah, is currently meeting President Nana Akufo Addo at the seat of government over his decision to strip Asamoah Gyan of the Black Stars captaincy which led to the latter’s retirement from the National team.

Sources at the Jubilee House say the meeting with the President is being centred on the sudden resignation of the captain of the senior national team, Asamoah Gyan, which happened on Monday.

The on-going meeting is also meant to convince Coach Kwasi Appiah to reverse his decision and allow Gyan to return to the side to be the substantive captain of the team ahead of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.

Below is the list of football officials present at the on-going meeting with the president:

Dr. Kofi Amoah (President of the Ghana Football Association Normalisation Committee. )

Dr. Kwasi Appiah ( Black Stars Coach )

Dr Kofi Koduah Sarpong (Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC). )

,Dr Kwame Kyei (Executive Chairman of Asante Kotoko)

Lawyer Naa Odofoley Nortey ( Member Ghana Football Association Normalisation Committee)

Sammy Kuffour (Member Ghana Football Association Normalisation Committee)

Isaac Kwame Asiamah (Minister of Youth and Sports)
