A fatal road accident at Nkawanda No.2 on the Nkawkaw-Accra Highway has claimed seven lives and left ten others injured.

The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) in a statement issued on Wednesday, August 27, said the crash occurred on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, around 1:45 P.M., when a Mercedes Benz Sprinter bus with registration number AW 4619-14 collided with a MAN Diesel Cargo truck, registered GN 114-21.

All the deceased were occupants of the Sprinter bus and included two boys, a young girl, and four women.

Ten other victims, including the driver and mate of the cargo truck, sustained various degrees of injury and were rushed by bystanders to the Holy Hospital and Kenop Hospital in Nkawkaw for treatment.

The statement indicated the Sprinter bus was completely mangled while the truck sustained partial damage. Fire officers secured the accident scene and preserved the remains of the deceased.

GNFS indicated that investigations are underway to determine the actual cause of the accident.
