Shows in Ghana are below my standard – King Ayisoba

Ghanaian traditional musician Albert Apoozore, popularly known as King Ayisoba has divulged that he does not perform at Ghanaian shows without live band as these shows are below his standard.

He was speaking in an interview with DJ Advicer on Happy FM’s Ayekoo After Drive show when he said: “Ghanaian shows are bring your CD, hold your microphone and sing. Such shows are for kids and underground artistes. I know a show is good when I can perform live and there are instrumentals to match my voice and kologo”.

According to him, no high amount of money can convince him to perform with a Disc Jockey(DJ) whilst on stage.

“Even if you pay me thirty billion for a show without live band, I will not perform. I will rather perform a well prepared live music than play with a dj, experiencing technical difficulties leading to humiliation:, he said.

King Ayisoba is an award winning musician whose popular song, “I Want to see my Father” was adjudged the Song of the Year and Traditional Song of the Year 2007 at the Ghana Music Awards.
