Mr. Al Wahab Farouk, an international diplomatic expert, has said that people should stop criticizing the Dutch ambassador to Ghana for his ‘Ghana beyond corruption’ comments.
Speaking on Happy FM’s political show ‘Epa Hoa Daben’ he said “Whoever does not understand diplomatic issues should shut up.’’
He stressed that the ambassador’s statement is as a result of the security threat that corruption in Ghana poses to the Dutch government.
According to him, the Dutch government greatly contributes to the Ghanaian economy. However most of their grants and assistance cannot be accounted for by our leaders.
The Dutch ambassador to Ghana, Mr. Ron Strikker mentioned that Ghana should focus on Ghana beyond corruption rather than Ghana beyond aid. He made his statement during the 20th anniversary celebration of the Ghana Initiative Integrity and the official launch of the “Ghana beyond Aid” project held at the Alisa Hotel.
