Special Prosecutor Kissi Agyebeng is currently briefing the media on the Airbus scandal.

This follows the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) concluding its investigation after receiving a petition from NPP’s Ernest Owusu Bempah. Bempah requested an update on the progress of the probe into the alleged bribery scandal involving Airbus.

The scandal involves allegations that Airbus, the European aircraft manufacturer, paid bribes in Ghana in connection with the sale of three military aircrafts.

The company has acknowledged hiring the brother of a high-ranking Ghanaian official as a consultant for the aircraft sales pitch.

The Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) has revealed that John Mahama is identified as ‘Government Official One’ in the Airbus SE scandal. According to the OSP both UK and US courts identified Mahama as Government Official One during their investigations.
