Stitch-Up' Fury! Ex-Chair blasts NDC over 'dodgy' MCE vetting

A high-stakes battle is brewing in the Ablekuma Central Constituency as Kplorm Kofi Dordunu, a former NDC Constituency Chairman, has fired a fiery petition against what he calls a “rigged” vetting process for the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) position.

In a strongly worded letter addressed to the National Vetting Committee, Dordunu has rejected his disqualification, describing the process as a “mere formality” designed to push through pre-selected candidates.

“It is well-known that vetting is meant to assess a candidate’s competence, qualifications, and vision for the role. But in my case, I wasn’t given that chance. I spent less than four minutes with the panel, and not a single question was asked about my suitability for the job,” Dordunu lamented.

He insists the vetting outcome was pre-determined, calling for an immediate suspension of the process to ensure a fair and transparent selection.
Sources say tensions are rising within the party ranks, with concerns that the MCE selection could become a flashpoint ahead of the 2024 elections.

Dordunu, who touts his experience and qualifications as assets for the municipality, is counting on party bigwigs, including Johnson Asiedu Nketia, Fifi Kwetey, and Dr. Valerie Sawyer, to intervene.

With the vetting committee now in the spotlight, will the NDC heed his call, or will this battle rage on? Stay tuned.
