The incumbent NPP Member of Parliament for Suhum Constituency, Kwadwo Asante populary Known as Boafo has declared his intention to contest as independent candidate in the upcoming 2024 general elections.

Speaking to Party Supporters after a health walk at Suhum Amponsah Market on September 1, 2024, Kwadwo Asante said he will now pay heed to calls by his constituents to contest as ab independent candidate.

His decision comes after he lost the New Partriotic Party (NPP) Parliamentary primary to Frank Asiedu Bekoe aka Protozoa.

After he lost the election, some party faithful in the Suhum Constituency advised him to contest the seat again as an independent candidate.

However, the Party hierarchy urged him not to buy into the idea of contesting the seat as an independent candidate.

While announcing his decision, Kwadwo Asante urged his supporters to have a united front and extend his campaign message across the constituency in order to remain in Parliament but as an independent candidate.
