Speaking to the media on the sidelines of the launch Mr Salah Kalmoni, Executive Director of Silver Star Tower Limited said affordable housing as described by GREDA, the market leader in affordable housing has one bedroom, a washroom, a living room, has net area of 45 square meters or more and costs $65 ,000. Mr. Kalmoni said the Super Affordable Flats give you more features at a cost of $33,000(GHC198, 000).He also challenged the banking industry to have available cedi mortgage of 12% or less.

Mr Kalmoni and GREDA president Mr Bonful cut tape for the launch of SAF at Lakeside City.

Also present at the launch was Mr Patrick Ebo Bonful President of GREDA. In his speech he said the provision of affordable residential housing is as essential as the provision of home mortgage financing for same. He noted that the challenge in this part of our world is the low levels of income and that makes it impossible for applicants of home mortgage finance to qualify for a reasonable amount of mortgage loan. He charged financial institutions to make available affordable mortgage facilities.
