Fast-rising, Ghanaian, inspirational speaker and musician, Kobby Praire, on Friday, January 14th, 2022, at a Capacity Building Seminar, held at Central University College, has urged the Ghanaian youth to take charge of today, to create the change they want tomorrow.

The Seminar which had the world celebrated inventor and chemical engineer, Dr. Thomas Mensah on the list of speakers, was focused on building capacity in technology, personal development, and entrepreneurship, and aimed at Empowering the Ghanaian Youth in personal initiative and innovations.

Ernest Kwabena Opare Owusu, popularly known in showbiz as Kobby prairie, at the seminar, admonished the students to be aware of the certainty of change and the passing of time and to make intentional efforts to develop the habits of personal discipline, goal setting, and personal initiative, while they are still students so that they will become better in character and in personal value, in the future, when change happens.

“It is a fact that we all desire to secure a job, after school, to earn some money. But the truth is that none of us really want money. What we all really want is the power that money seems to bring. The power to go wherever we want, buy and give out as we want. But true power is only present where the real value is. Let us, therefore, make who we are becoming the focus for all endeavors we undertake. At all times let’s look for environments where personal growth can be attained, and not make money the focus. Money will beg to be in your presence when you have true value”- Kobby Prairie said.

Speaking on the issue of personal development, He further told the students to work on improving their relationship capital by being selective when it comes to the kind of people they spend time with virtually or in person. He emphasized that Change is coming, a time when they will be called “formal students” and in that phase, they will not have access to the resources of their institution as they now have. But the only person that stands between them and the full deployment of their potentials, is themselves as individuals. “Without goals, everything goes”- He quipped.

Kobby Prairie is the founder and Executive director of The Prairie Concept. Currently, he is the personal communications personnel to Dr. Thomas Mensah in Ghana. Dr. Thomas O. Mensah is a Ghanaian-American chemical engineer and inventor, who contributed to the development of fiber optics and nanotechnology. He has 14 patents and was inducted into the US National Academy of Inventors in 2015. Together with other innovative Ghanaian youth, Kobby Prairie is working with Dr.Mensah to create content and organize talks to help equip the youth in Ghana and Africa as a whole, with the truth that our destiny is in our own hands and we can do anything we commit ourselves to do. Kobby Prairie is working to spread Dr. Mensah’s affirmation that “We, Africans, are the right stuff… The right stuff comes in black too”

The event was organized by the Women’s Commissioner of the Central University College led by the president, DorcasTracy Dove, in collaboration with the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences Association (FASSA).

Maxwell Odonkor, founder and chairman of World Inspiring Network, and Monnie Young, Co-founder of Python Ghana, were among the top speakers who graced the occasion.
