Emotions ran high as the Attorney General and Minister for Justice, Dr. Dominic Ayine, paid a heartfelt tribute to the late Member of Parliament, Ibrahim Murtala, who tragically lost his life in a devastating plane crash.

Speaking with visible grief, Dr. Ayine described the late Murtala not just as a politician, but as a true nation builder and patriot whose absence leaves a painful void in Ghana’s political landscape.

“We haven’t just lost a politician we’ve lost a national asset,” he said, his voice heavy with emotion. “His contributions to parliamentary debate and committee work were not only respected but often helped shape national policy.”

The Attorney General recalled Murtala’s strong voice in Parliament, describing him as a man of principle and intellect who never hesitated to speak truth to power, both on the floor of the House and in the media.

“It’s hard to accept that we will never again hear that bold, thoughtful voice echo through Parliament,” he added. “He left a positive mark in public service, and it’s now our duty to carry his legacy forward.”

Dr. Ayine praised the late MP’s integrity in dealing with the media and his consistent contributions to national discourse, saying he never went astray, even in the face of intense scrutiny.
