Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Creative Director of Kofas Media, Kofi Asamoah, says that technology is mainly the root cause of problems in the Ghanaian movie industry.

According to him the inappropriate use of technology by industry players is gradually destroying the movie industry.

He made this revelation on Happy98.9FM’s ‘Showbiz Xtra’ with Doctar Cann, where he said, “Technology is being helpful but if we don’t manage it well, we will lose our movie industry”.

On his authority, to revive the Ghanaian movie industry, all stakeholders should start learning how to simultaneously manage the use of cinema’s and technology.

He advised movie producers to cease moving movies straight from production to online platforms. “We can do proper promotion and make a lot of money out of movie premiers and by taking advantage of technology. We lose money by placing movies on youtube right after production”.

He sadly noted that cinemas and theatres will keep on being repurposed into churches, banks and super markets if movie producers do not change their behaviour.

The movie producer called on all his colleagues to come on board and make the industry great again by using technology appropriately.
