Telecel Ghana is set to transform the University of Ghana into the hub of music and dance this Valentine’s Day, as Black Sherif, KiDi, and Kweku Smoke headline the telco’s high-energy campus party dubbed Telecel TurnUp.

Slated for Saturday, 14th February, to climax the university’s Akwaaba Week celebration, Telecel TurnUp is bringing together a lineup of crowd favourites and rising talents in music and dance for a night of nonstop entertainment.

Anchoring the night are three of Ghana’s most magnetic music hitmakers, as Black Sherif leads the charge with his raw energy and chart-topping global anthems. Joining Blacko is Ghana’s official ‘Sugar Daddy,’ KiDi, ready to bring the smooth vocals and lover-boy vibes to the stage, as well as Gen-Z crowd-pulling artiste, Kweku Smoke, who is bent on delivering an unforgettable performance that promises to throw the audience into a frenzy.

Director of Enterprise Business and Wholesale at Telecel Ghana, Tawa Bolarin, said TurnUp is designed to celebrate existing partnerships with universities on the network’s tertiary bundles. “TurnUp is our flagship campus party created specifically to celebrate tertiary institutions benefitting from our special packages. We organise it every year to appreciate our relationship with the host university and appreciate the student population, who are a major part of the Telecel brand,” Ms Bolarin said. “It could be your university next year.”

One of the mainstays of the campus party experience is the talent discovery challenge, the Telecel Next Turn Up Star. University of Ghana students with musical or dance talents are invited to post short performance videos on Instagram or TikTok, tagging Telecel Ghana and using #TelecelNextTurnUpStar.

From there, top talents will be shortlisted, and fan engagement, including likes and comments, will determine the four high-performing talents who get the chance to share the stage with Blacko, KiDi and Kweku Smoke.

The two most outstanding music and dance performers will walk away with the title of the Telecel Next TurnUp Star and a whooping GH₵10,000 each, along with the priceless exposure.

Beyond the entertainment, Telecel Ghana has invested in partnerships with universities as the telecom operator continues to roll out highly discounted bundles, reinforcing its reputation as a brand that genuinely understands students and youth needs.

As part of Akwaaba Week, Telecel is rolling out a two-day Cashless Bazaar prior to the climax event, where students can shop, eat, and chill while making cashless payments with Telecel Cash.

There will also be Service Clinics on campus, offering SIM registration, SIM swaps, Telecel Cash setup, and network support. Brand partners including Bel Beverage, Coca-Cola, Hotwav, iTel, and Close Up will be on ground with activations and product giveaways, while Uber joins the party with discounted rides to make getting to and from the varsity convenient.

Since launching in 2021, Telecel Turn Up has evolved into one of the most anticipated campus experiences in Ghana. It was previously hosted at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology in 2022 and at the University of Energy and Natural Resources in 2024.
Exclusive to Telecel users only, students can purchase and activate SIM cards at designated activation points across the traditional halls ahead of the event, making sure no student misses out.

As Black Sherif, KiDi and Kweku Smoke ready to electrify the University of Ghana’s Athletic Oval on Valentine’s Day, Telecel TurnUp is promising a night packed with music, youth culture, and unmatched campus vibes.
