Residents of Tema Harbour are reeling from a tragic event that unfolded on Friday, May 30, 2025, when a 35-year-old man, identified only as Ali, allegedly killed a 56-year-old caretaker at the main railway yard.
Eyewitness reports indicate that Ali, who had lived and worked at the harbour for years but exhibited signs of mental instability in recent times, carried the victim’s severed head in a bag before being apprehended.
Upon his arrest, he led police to the location of the headless body.

Officers from the Tema Regional Police Command are investigating the case, while the community struggles to come to terms with the shocking crime.
The victim’s body has since been transported to the mortuary.
