The contest for a slot on the Executive Council, hitherto the Executive Committee, will be a stiff one following the reduction of the composition from 23 to 12 members of which one female must represent women football.

Female Club owner, administrator Madam Edna Quargraine is in the race for the single slot available at EXCO to represent the interest of women football in the country. The Golden Ladies and Bluna Ladies F/C player comes with passion and her long years  of experience, dedication and technical knowledge which would continue to make positive impact on women football in Ghana.

Edna Quagraine, is one of the pioneers of women football in the country having played professional football alongside the likes of Mercy Tagoe, the current Black Queens head coach, in same team.

She is the founder, CEO and Head Coach of Inter- Royals Ladies F/C .Madam Edna was affiliated to Ghana Football Association and played the Greater Accra League from 2011 to 2016 where she took the first position in 2016 which qualified her to the middle league scheduled in Takoradi..

She assisted Coach Maapa lnkoom to Coach  Samaria Ladies in 2017 during the Women National league. Since retiring from active football, she continued to work with CEPS for close to 20yrs now. She’s currently the only female serving on the National Executive Council of the Coaches’ Association.

Madam Edna has gone through coaching from the Basic to the License A. The GFA took her and coach  Allotey Abraham  to Germany in 2010 for their International DFB Coaching Course B Level. In 2013, she became the Assistant Coach for the U20 till 2016 after Papua new Guinea World Cup when she started vying for the Head coach  of the U20 women’s team. But there was no respond till the Anas Exposè last year.

Education : She attended Nungua Secondary School where she was very active in sports that saw her being elected as the Sports Prefect in her final year. She had her A level privately but later went to University of Education Winneba UEW in 2007, had Distinction  in Diploma in Sports Coaching and in 2016, she had Bachelor of Science with First Class Honours in Sports Coaching specializing in Football.

Reason for contesting.

“I want to be on EXCO because l have gone through the latel and think l am capable and ready for the task ahead, and to become a member at the Executive Council where decisions are made as far as Football is concerned.”- Madam Edna said.

Delegates of Ghana Football will go to the polls from 24th to 27th October to elect various position holders to steer the affairs of football in the country for the next four years.

Coach Edna might have a rich track record but will have to battle other three strong women-Former vice chairperson of the women’s league board,Madam Roselind Amoh, former Black Queens welfare officer,Madam Evelyn Nsiah Asare and madam Habiba Atta, owner of Fabulous Ladies-for the position on EXCO.

Vetting for the aspirants ended Tuesday October 1, 2019 .
