Kumawood star Kwaku Manu has disclosed that Ghanaian movie actors and actress have now turned into TV host due to lack of packaging in the movie industry.
During an interview on Happy FM’s Ayekoo After Drive show with DJ Advicer, the multiple award winning Kumawood star said, “Can’t you see that majority of the actors and actress are now TV hosts, very soon I will also start a TV show. It’s because of lack of packaging in the movie industry, if we are to package the industry very well, trust me the actors and actress will stay focused.”
He also added that the movie industry can be used by the government to reduce the high rate of unemployment in the country: “What we have to keep in mind is that if the industry is well packaged it can employ lot of people in the country, so we need money to help package the movie industry well.”
“The number of calls I receive in a day that they want to join the movie industry will surprise you, the movie industry can employ majority of street children.”
“For one to survive as an actor or actress in Ghana is very difficult,” Manu concluded.
