Member of Parliament for Ayawaso West Wuogon, John Dumelo, has announced the restoration of traffic light operations at Okponglo, Legon — a key intersection used by motorists in Accra.

In a video posted on his official X page, the MP informed constituents and road users commuting from Okponglo Junction to Madina and East Legon, as well as those heading from Madina to Accra Central, about the development.

Mr. Dumelo confirmed that engineers restored the traffic lights to optimal function by 7:30 PM on Wednesday, April 9, 2025. He assured the public that the lights are expected to remain operational for a much longer period compared to previous times.

He also expressed appreciation to the Department of Urban Roads and all individuals involved in the restoration effort. Dumelo acknowledged the patience of commuters and apologized for the inconvenience caused during the downtime.

“The traffic lights at the Okponglo junction finally have been restored. The contractors finished all the extra works just around 7pm yesterdey and the lights are back on. Thanks so much for the patience over the last few months and so sorry for the inconvenience caused. I am here to work for you. God bless you all. #idey4u”
