Fatau Dauda has emerged as one of the four goalkeepers in the Nigerian Premier Football League to record most clean sheets.
Dauda joined Enyimba FC at the start of last season and quickly established himself as one of the key players in the side’s camp with his impressive performances.
The 33-year-old has continued his form in the ongoing season by keeping 8 clean sheets in 15 appearances as the People’s Elephant occupy 8th spot on the standings after 17 games.
The former AshantiGold custodian’s record is match by Olufemi Kayode of Akwa United, Itodo Akor of Yobe Desert Stars, Femi Thomas formerly of River United and Mustapha Aliko of Niger Tornados.
Meanwhile, the Ghana international is set to face a punishment from his club following his ‘unprofessional act’ during the side’s goalless draw with Akwa United last weekend.
The experienced shot-stopper was shown a direct red card in the 0-0 stalemate with Akwa in the Nigerian top flight league following a violent conduct in an off-the-ball incident in the 41st minute of the game.
He apologized in the aftermath of the game but the club chairman, Anyansi Agwu hinted the player will be punished.
