All three aspirants vying for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary slot in Akwatia have successfully passed vetting and are set to contest the upcoming primaries.

The hopefuls include: Henry Boakye (Okoyo) – former Member of Parliament for Akwatia, Bernard Bediako Baidoo Esq. current Constituency Secretary and Erasmus Koney Ali (Asanka Poyooyo) – well-known local figure.

Vetting took place on Thursday, July 31 in Koforidua, led by Deputy National Organiser Kobby Balon and supported by Director of Logistics and Protocol, Ludwig Hlodze.

After vetting, a ballot draw was conducted to determine the order on the ballot paper which Bernard Bediako Baidoo came first, followed by Erasmus Koney Ali and Henry Boakye occupying the third position.

Speaking to journalists, Bernard and Erasmus emphasized unity and readiness to support whoever emerges victorious.

The primaries will take place on Monday, with party leaders urging peaceful participation and rallying around the final nominee.

Ludwig Hlodze lauded the smooth process and reiterated the NDC’s “reset agenda” as it prepares for the September 2 by-election. Supporters have been encouraged to remain united behind the chosen candidate to secure victory.
