Referees Manager at the Ghana Football Association, Alex Kotey has said that the introduction of the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) will add credibility to officiating in Ghana.
According to Alex Kotey, the VAR will bring an end to a lot of controversial decisions taken by officials in the course of the game.
He told Ohene-Bampoe Brenya on Happy Sports that the 2024 African Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast saw a more credible officiating and it was because of the introduction of the VAR.
“A typical example is the AFCON 2024 that we just witnessed and we all saw that it was a success, because of the Video Assistant Referee (VAR).”
“So yes, credibility in our game will be very high if we are able to implement,” Referees’ Manager Alex Kotey said.
