Samuel Karikari, widely recognized as Koo Ofori from the popular TV show ‘Efiewura’, has reportedly been arrested by the Ghana Police Service.

In a video circulating on social media, the actor is seen in handcuffs being escorted by the police.

According to reports, Koo Ofori has been arrested for allegedly defrauding a U.S.-based Ghanaian of $50,000.

Others also claim the victim, based in California, transferred the amount to Koo Ofori for what was believed to be a legitimate investment opportunity.

However, reports indicate that Koo Ofori allegedly fled with the funds, failing to fulfill the promised investment commitments.

Court documents reveal the veteran actor defaulted on payments and did not appear before the Dansoman District Court on April 17, 2025.

In a widely circulated video on social media, Koo Ofori was seen handcuffed as he was escorted to court.

The case has now been rescheduled for Monday, May 12, 2025, after the court failed to convene as planned.

Meanwhile, the Ghana Police Service has confirmed that the veteran actor will remain in custody until his next court appearance.
