Vice President Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang has hosted Cape Coast Metropolitan assembly leadership and MPs to discuss an 8-year development plan for the area.
The plan includes refurbishing the Evans Atta Mills Library and rehabilitating the Cape Coast Metropolitan Hospital.
The Evans Atta Mills Library, commissioned in 2016, has been in disrepair. The refurbishment aims to restore the facility as a center for research, education, and tourism, aligning with Cape Coast’s rich academic heritage.
The Cape Coast Metropolitan Hospital rehabilitation is part of efforts to improve healthcare infrastructure in the region.
Vice President Opoku-Agyemang has emphasized the importance of decentralization reforms to strengthen local governance and improve service delivery. She has also championed initiatives to promote industrial growth, local production, and economic transformation.
The development plan reflects the government’s commitment to enhancing education, healthcare, and economic infrastructure in Cape Coast.
