A woman identified as Mama Dada has set herself ablaze in her home in Ogun state because she could not pay off her debt.
She decided to end it all in her rented apartment located at the Oke-Keesi, Itoko area of Abeokuta on Saturday afternoon, February 18, 2023 after it dawned on her that she couldn’t pay off the #70,000 bill she owed a microfinance bank.
The secretary of the Community Development Association confirmed this by saying:
“She is owing the ‘Gbomu le lantern’ the sum of N70,000, because she was unable to meet up with the payment she then sent her last born to buy fuel and also use style to discharge the small boy and she locked herself up inside the room and wet everywhere with petrol including herself and set the whole place on fir£.”
