A driver and his accomplice have been arrested by the Volta North Regional Police Command for carrying cannabis in his truck.
During the operation carried out by the Police Command, the Police seized several tons of unapproved substance as part of their mandate to combat drug trafficking within the Region.
The police acted upon information from an informant.
After receiving the information, the police mounted a barrier on the Kajebi-Okanta road and intercepted the truck with registration number GT 6389-14 containing the cannabis at the back of the track.
The driver and his accomplice were arrested after the police found the substance in the truck.
Investigation has been launched by the Police command to cause the arrest of other accomplices involved in the drug trafficking.
