Founded by K.O.G (Kweku of Ghana) in 2015, The Zongo Brigade from the United Kingdom, is back with “Brand New Day”, their new single since their last album Wahala Wahala released in April via the France based Heavenly Sweetness label.
Featuring Ghanaian pop-star Wiyaala, the track is an explosive blast celebrating life and dance. An antidote to negativity, Brand New Day is sung in English and Wiyaala’s Sissala dialect. The song comes with a new video and also features Jamaican rapper Franz Von.
K.O.G and Wiyaala met in the UK at the Shambala Festival in 2018 and headed to MU Studios in Sheffield to work with producer Martin Smith. “Brand New Day” is the first of several songs on which Wiyaala is working on whilst touring Europe with K.O.G, The Zongo Brigade and Onipa, another Ghana/UK collaboration which is produced by Tom Excell.
“I’ve performed these new songs live with the Zongo Brigade and Onipa at several festivals in Europe and they are getting a really positive reaction” says Wiyaala.
